Vancouver Film Studios exemplifies green business practices and community involvement.

Our business leads the Vancouver film industry in environmental sustainability practices. It is the first-ever carbon neutral production centre in Canada. Our eco-friendly business is also a participant in the City of Vancouver’s Still Creek Enhancement. Still Creek is one of the last two remaining visible streams in urban Vancouver and flows, in part, through our studio’s lot. Recently, CBC reported on chum salmon, an endangered species, returning to Still Creek.

Vancouver Film Studios employees strive to make a difference on local issues that we’re passionate about. The McLean Group Employee Fund—a permanent endowment managed by Vancouver Foundation and under the guidance and direction of our employees—provides ongoing financial support to a variety of local charities and projects, such as our Youth Homelessness Initiative, providing education and resources to help youth aging out of government care, so that they may successfully transition from government care to adulthood.

We support young filmmakers and television producers by sponsoring Summer Visions Film Program at Templeton High School and by offering discounted equipment rentals to students.

Vancouver Film Studios is a Reel Green partner.
